Calling all ravers, hipsters, and all-around freaks! Om Records is proud to present the first single from one of its newest artist signings: Bassnectar. The Bay Area star is about to go global with his forthcoming full-length album “Underground Communication” (coming in May). The debut single: “Yo” is a 5 track EP featuring Latina vocalist Kristina Maria, and remixes from UK superstars SPEAKER JUNK, Bay Area hip hop mogul AMPLIVE (of Zion I), and a special B-side bonus from HEAVYWEIGHT DUB CHAMPION featuring the one and only KRS-ONE. Thats right kids, this is one heavy slab of wax not to be missed! Up first, two of the biggest names in underground house, Trevor Loveys (House of 909, Freerange, Frontroom, Loungin`) and Joshua “Herve” Harvey (Dubsided, On The Brink), come together under their alias Speaker Junk, and deliver a dance-floor devastating remix that remind us of the days of rave. This remix is all about the party…and is sure to make people lose their minds! Don`t believe me? Watch your dancefloor. Also on Side A, Bassnectar provides his own extended 12" mix of the album version, a cross between a breaks and broken beat, which works well in both types of sets, and can be snuck into a house set as well by jocks with a bit more skill at their disposal. Flip over for the bonus cut, a Bassnectar remix of Heavyweight Dub Champion feat. KRS-ONE “Arrival,” dubbed-out hip hop at its finest. Last but not least, Amplive of Zion I drops some science on us with his club-style uptempo remix – with a touch of Baile funk and guest vocals from Deuce Eclipse (Zion I Crew).
