Cheb i Sabbah was a musical pioneer, fusing together entire cultures of sound and music, pushing cutting edge blends of traditional songs with beats and ideas which were way ahead of his time.
“Chebiji” as he was affectionately known passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with stomach cancer over 2 years ago. At that time he was given 4 weeks to live and through a combination of alternative therapies funded by his friends and fans, along with a sheer will to live, he exceeded all expectations for someone with an advanced stage of cancer.
We are releasing this special remaster as a benefit to his family: he has two kids and three grandkids, who are largely dependent on him. All the proceeds from this remix will go straight to the family.
We’re elated to announce the new Shiny Objects single on Smoke n’ Mirrors…with a fabulous remix from Berlin’s Click Click!!!
Shiny Objects return with a new tech-laced dance inducer with a distinct sound that is oh-so-shiny. The new single, “Tell Me What You Want” is a funk-infused deep house track with a hint of techy goodness. Provocative female French vocalist, Aya, gives the track a surreal yet danceable edge. The original mix showcases a shifting clap and big build to get feet moving, while Click Click’s rework offers a steady tempo and rolling bass-line to keep the dance floor going.

The first rule of professional magicians is that they must never reveal their secrets, and ridiculously- talented Producer and DJ-duo, Sleight of Hands, aren’t giving away any of their mystery any time soon. What they have inevitably divulged through their accomplishments is that when a Bay Area rave specialist and a British transplant (who is one half of bachelor of science) come together, the resulting dynamism is no illusion. For their next trick, they will feature a series of releases on Om Records’ illustrious underground record label, Smoke n’ Mirrors. First in line is their premier EP, a deep house number called “All Night". Cards are officially out on the table and the stakes are high, so you’d better be watching.
Big news today Omies: Body Language’s new single, ‘Just Because’ is out now!
Lavish Habits presents ‘Just Because’, the new single from Body Language’s sophomore album ‘Grammar’. The original album version is a super funky track with a huge chorus and instrumental hook.
For the remixes, ambitious young producer Beatsronaut has a sugary pop rendition that’ll get you warmed up, followed by Figgy’s rework with melodic synths and danceable claps.
Next, Brooklyn producer Dunes adds a twist by transferring the track into a slinky dance mix. Rounding out the package, JPrez delivers a deep and dreamy space jam that’s destined for the dance floor, and Garth Trinidad makes the final cut with a remix of Body Language’s first single, “Well Absolutely”.
