Child’s Play Records is hitting the festival circuit hard this weekend, taking over both Outside Lands in SF and Street Scene in San Diego.

Our man Amp Live is working hard this weekend playing the official Outside Lands after party at The Independent of Friday, the 29th with Street Sweeper Social Club which is Boots Riley (The Coup) and Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) new super group. Amp is set to perform live showcasing songs off his forthcoming album entitled ‘Murdered at the Discotec,’ which drops early next year. Joining him on stage is Fool’s Gold own Trackademicks and mc/vocalist K.Flay. Be sure to arrive early because this show is guaranteed to sell out. If you’re heading to the festival on Saturday, be sure to get there early for a special performance by Zion I. Later that night, don’t sleep on TV on the Radio and Mars Volta, two of our favorites in the office. Finally on Sunday, be sure to catch Amp Live rock the DJ Tent from 4 – 6pm. Click here to check out the full schedule for the Outside Lands festival.

Stay classy San Diego. This weekend is the infamous Street Scene festival featuring Child’s Play recording artist Bassnectar. Gearing up for the release of his next record ‘Cozza Frenzy,’ Bassnectar stays crushing kids eardrums stealing the show at both Lollapalooza and Shambala this summer. Be on the look out for the worldwide release of the ‘Cozza Frenzy’ single featuring remixes from Z-Trip as well as a heavy bass remix from Bassnectar himself. For more info on this dude, hit his website up where you can grab free downloads, stream live mixes and peep his upcoming tour schedule.

Mushroom Jazz 6 Release Party Wrap Up

CLICK THE BANNER ABOVE TO SEE THE PHOTOS COURTESY OF FLATSOL PRESS.

Hey Hey Hey! I hope all of you were in attendance on October 18th and able to enjoy the amazing dual release party for two of Om Records’ most anticipated albums, Mushroom Jazz 6 and J-Boogie’s Dubtronic Science Soul Vibrations. From 10pm on the walls of Mighty were shakin’ to the live sounds of downtempo hip-hop, soulful jazz and funky Latin beats. J-Boogie and his Dubtronic Science band threw down featuring debut tracks from their new album Soul Vibrations and Mark Farina tore up the turntables proving why his Mushroom Jazz series is Om’s most highly demanded series in 15 years. The sexy vibe at the party was complimented by pink and purple lotus flowers raining down Mighty’s vintage brick walls, along with images of newly released music videos from both albums. All 1,000 guests in attendance were dressed to impress and thoroughly enjoying the drinks, the vibe, and especially the music until the early hours of Sunday morning. This party definitely graces the top of the Om party charts and I hope you all had a great time. If you didn’t make it out, there’s always more to come, and you can check out the pics of what you missed on our site by clicking the above banner.

Peace.

Love Fest Wrap Up

Back to reality time folks, the LoveFest weekend has come to a close and I’m sure that all over San Francisco people are popping extra strength Tylenol and double fisting lattes and espressos to make it through their post LoveFest work days. 2008 Love Fest was another great success! Although it rained on Friday night and was predicted to rain all day Saturday, the Love Gods, and 100,000 half naked, rainbow sparkle covered, booty shaking citizens brought out the sunshine.

A midst the thousands of dancing ravers, rainbow bright girls, feathers and glow-sticks, the Om records float was rockin’ it from 11:30 am on, starting off at 2nd and Market and bumpin’ down to civic center plaza. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, The Om float was a glowing green botanical garden slash dance party on wheels, draped in giant inflatable flowers, fully equipped with turn tables and massive speakers providing all of the necessities for an all day out door club experience.

After the sun set on LoveFest, Om and PepsiStuff.com kept the party goin’ with the Love Is A Trip after party. Mezzanine was filled to the brim with people who were eager to keep the day rollin’. The event featured Mark Farina, Mike Monday, King Britt, DJ Fluid and upstairs in the Lounge sets were spun by Rich Medina, Rob G and J-Boogie. The night was a huge success! Downstairs partygoers were fist pumpin’ and booty bumpin’ to some serious electronic dance beats, while up in the lounge the speakers slapped funky hip-hop and Latin grooves. The fun continued until the early hours of Sunday morning, making this LoveFest weekend well worth the hangovers and exhaustion that is surely being felt by all.

LoveFest 08 Om style was a kick ass time, hope you all had fun and if you wanna re-live the experience before next year’s fest check out our pics!
