THE ONE / OBAMA TRIBUTE

Voting is so important and this is a pivotal time in our country. Whether you vote for Obama or McCain make sure you vote informed. But the main thing…get your funky ass out there and vote.

In these last days leading up to the election, I wanted to offer a special contribution to Obama’s cause. As I would watch the election coverage, I kept chanting ‘O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma,’ realizing it reminded me of George Kranz’s ‘Din-Daa-Daa’ from the movie Breaking 2, Electric Boogaloo. The idea popped in my head to produce a special ONE rendition to help get the word out that this is one of the most important elections in America’s history. So many people are always complaining about how things could be better in this country but have never voted. This song is dedicated to act of voting; as an American it is one of our most important natural rights. Get to the polls and let your voice be heard!

Lyrics

People Want Change, People Want Change

Have the nerve to complain, but don’t do a thang

You are the WE is yes we can, you have the power to change the world

You can complain but it still wont change

You need to let your voice be heard

O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma

People Want Change, People Want Change

Then how can it change if you don’t make the change

Now is the time to make the stand

You have the power to move the world

You can complain but it still won’t change

You need to let your voice be heard

O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma, O-ba-ma

King Britt Love Fest After Party Podcast

CLICK THE BANNER ABOVE TO DOWNLOAD THE FREE MIX

If you have been walking around in a fog over the past two weeks, kicking yourself for not coming to the Om Records’ Love’s a Trip – Love Fest after party, you can cease the self inflicted suffering immediately, because you are about to get something like a second chance. There is hope after all!! The entire set from the Love Fest after party spun by musical chameleon, producer and DJ King Britt has been uploaded onto our podcast section for your listening and dancing pleasure. While it would be impossible to fully recreate the amped vibe of the Love’s a Trip party, this pod cast should do the trick to get your body rocking and your booty shaking.

King Britt brought his eclectic musical knowledge to the turntables on the main floor of the party for this upbeat set. The set begins with a sound that I’m sure many of us would be happy to wake up to every morning and go to bed to every night, and that is sound clips of our future president Barack Obama’s vision for change!! These Obama shout outs are supported in the set by some masterful remixes of some of my favorite hip-hop jams (both old and new) including MIA’s ‘Paper Planes,’ Kanye West’s ‘Work Out Plan,’ and Petey Pablo’s ‘Freak a Leak.’ The set wouldn’t truly be a Love Fest after party set, however, without spinning into a serious bass thumping electronic dance music break down. So, lace up your black and gold adidas, turn the lights down, and proceed to the land of musical enjoyment

Home & Garden 'Domesticated' Coming Soon!

Home and Garden Domesticated Release Announcement

Dance music hit making production team Tim Kvasnosky and Timothy Shumaker have teamed up as Home and Garden to write, compose, perform and produce their latest album ‘Domesticated’ which drops September 16. I just got a sneak peak, and the first track, ‘Easy Going Down’ featuring Jennifer Karr jumps right into a light hearted disco dance party vibe that carries through the album. There’s a track on this album to get down to at any time of day and every situation. The title track, ‘Domesticated’ puts a fresh spin on a twist between 70’s disco and the 80s dance music feel that I know and love and takes me back to the days of dancing in my living room in my underwear holding my hairbrush. Track 7, ‘Body and Soul’ featuring Mic Murphy takes me from my living room straight to the club for cocktails and some serious money-maker shakin’ with my girls. This album serves up a new and refreshing sound, and that is why I absolutely love it. Home and Garden’s ‘Domesticated’ is an instant dance classic in my book, take it from my man Mr. T “I pity the fool that doesn’t (love, buy, check out, dig) Home & Garden.” Check it out today.
