Blackbird Blackbird’s newest single “All” is out on Lavish Habits. The new single shows off his pop sensibilities, thick with echoing guitar plucks and soothing, lightly-treated vocals. Chiming synths and fluttering clicks splash color on top of a melancholic tone. Clean four-to-the-floor beats and a lovely synth lead dissipate into dreamlike samples of incomprehensible speech and smooth, lapping waves.
Also on the release is Distal’s remix of Blackbird Blackbirdʼs “Keep It Up,” taking it into a dark, barreling techno track. Blackbirdʼs crooning vocals stab into the rolling kick drum, complete with frenetic bubbling effects. The beat is broken up with touches of two-step futurism and at the very end, a playful flute appears to brighten the fade out.

New from Brooklyn-based indie electro-pop band Body Language: the official music video for “You Can,” off of their “Social Studies” EP on the Lavish Habits. Dreamy vocals soar over lush layers of synth; a sweet electro tune with lots of early-eighties charm.
Official Music Video for ‘No Bossy Girl feat. Odille Lima’, taken from the new Wagon Cookin’ album ‘Eleven’, available everywhere now!
Celebrating their eleventh year as a band, Wagon Cookin’ returns to their roots with a blend of New Wave, Disco and synth-based Funk—a sophisticated, retro-futurist, melodic landscape in Wagon Cookin’ style.
Enjoying a conservatory musical education from childhood, Javier and Luis Garayalde are skilled multi-instrumentalists. Along with their father, a scholar and saxophone player, they were part of various Jazz bands before developing an inter- est in electronic music, Acid Jazz and House in the 1990s.
Having released tracks on various imprints, including their own, they have enjoyed collabo- rations with the likes of Gilles Peterson and Masters at Work while touring internationally for a decade. Appearances at Popkomm in Cologne, Midem in Cannes and even a four night station at the Blue Note in Tokyo saw them sharing the stage with Eddie Palmierei, Azymyth, Marcos Valle and Chick Corea.
Moving from Madrid to Brazil, the duo found new inspiration and continued to fold their influ- ences into a unique sound. The Jazz of their youth, the punch of House and the enchanting warmth of Bossa came together to form the Wagon Cookin’ sound – a recipe that could only be synthesized by brothers who have travelled the world; watching, listening, learning.
