Child’s Play Records is hitting the festival circuit hard this weekend, taking over both Outside Lands in SF and Street Scene in San Diego.
Our man Amp Live is working hard this weekend playing the official Outside Lands after party at The Independent of Friday, the 29th with Street Sweeper Social Club which is Boots Riley (The Coup) and Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) new super group. Amp is set to perform live showcasing songs off his forthcoming album entitled ‘Murdered at the Discotec,’ which drops early next year. Joining him on stage is Fool’s Gold own Trackademicks and mc/vocalist K.Flay. Be sure to arrive early because this show is guaranteed to sell out. If you’re heading to the festival on Saturday, be sure to get there early for a special performance by Zion I. Later that night, don’t sleep on TV on the Radio and Mars Volta, two of our favorites in the office. Finally on Sunday, be sure to catch Amp Live rock the DJ Tent from 4 – 6pm. Click here to check out the full schedule for the Outside Lands festival.
Stay classy San Diego. This weekend is the infamous Street Scene festival featuring Child’s Play recording artist Bassnectar. Gearing up for the release of his next record ‘Cozza Frenzy,’ Bassnectar stays crushing kids eardrums stealing the show at both Lollapalooza and Shambala this summer. Be on the look out for the worldwide release of the ‘Cozza Frenzy’ single featuring remixes from Z-Trip as well as a heavy bass remix from Bassnectar himself. For more info on this dude, hit his website up where you can grab free downloads, stream live mixes and peep his upcoming tour schedule.

Some say that the earth was created by two massive stars colliding billions of years ago. Each one contained its own individual properties to form a new entity of life, thus the earth was born.
Om Records and Om: Hip Hop have just collided to form “the new new” AKA Child’s Play Records; a bastard child dedicated to combining the electronic and techno sounds of Om and the hip hop rhymes and beats of Om: Hip Hop. Fresh on the map, life has already begun with the signing of Bay Area Producer and Remix Technician Amp Live (Zion I),Bassnectar, Greenskeepers out of Chicago and James Curd. Today marks the official announcement of the label as well as the worldwide release of Amp Live’s first single, ‘Gary is a Robot.’ Featuring Trackademicks (Fools Gold) and Micro Jaxson, ‘Gary is a Robot’ has already started to catch traction worldwide and has been described as a ‘very nice hip hop electro blend from 2050.’ Make sure to stream the track below and if you like, click the iTunes link to cop.
On the horizon, Child’s Play will be releasing a new EP from Greenskeepers called ‘Vampire’ in June. The Greenskeepers vibe is merging rock electro cool with a tongue in cheek twist. Look out for more info on the release in the weeks to come.

If you live in Socal this weekend, you’re in luck, the crew is packing up their bags and heading down south for a special mini tour playing some of our favorite parties including Funk Rumble & DEEP. <a href=http://sharebee.com/7cf64c96 target=blank>I know there’s quite a few bootlegs, tributes and mixtapes out recently but we wanted to re-post this amazing concept record from The One. Using elements and samples from Thriller, he devised a new soundtrack to go along with his favorite movie ‘The Killer’ directed by John Woo. Using samples from the legendary Thriller album, THEONE gives us a new interpretation of the songs designed specially for scenes in ‘The Killer.’ Make sure to peep each song all the way through as the flips the beats in multiple styles and up to three times on some tracks. This is strictly for fun and promotional use only. Don’t be afraid, click the banner to download. R.I.P. M.J.!!
