Yes folks… its exactly what it sounds like. A phone charger that powers your phone with kinetic energy of your dance moves. Its a prototype for now that is being tested at the Glastonbury festival this weekend. Strap it to your arm and get your dance on!!

Unfortunately I wasn’t at the DMF this year, but there were over 80,000 of you who were! This number far surpassed the goal of 60,000 and exceeded last years numbers by a huge amount.
Another record was broken this year as well – with the amount of recycling that was accounted for. The recycling program that was instituted collected more than 3,000 pounds of recyclables
The festival had approximately 10 recycling tents, staffed with volunteers that collected cans, bottles, and paper. Great Lakes Recycling, offering single stream capabilities, stored and processed all the recyclable materials, and once separated, the recyclables were transferred to a single location for further processing. Way to go everyone – ANYTHING counts.

Sunshine beckons and Sonar calls for Om as we return for our second year at the fabulous La Terrrazza. Last year saw 1,000+ people ascend into the hills just outside the city centre for a show stopping open—air event in the beautiful setting within the fort. Think dancing on the castle ramparts as the sun comes up and you will start to get an idea of our very special Om Sonar party in association with Djdownload.com
This year we welcome three big players from the world of house for exclusive Sonar performances at the Om party. Om’s ambassador of sonic excellence on the UK shores Mike Monday will be topping the bill with his unique selection of underground music plus exclusive previews of music from his forthcoming artist album “Songs Without Words” due out on Om Records in September 2008.
Jesse Rose, Panorama resident & Made to Play label boss is to rock the party with slices of stripped back house & minimal tech moments while San Francisco’s Dirty Bird Justin Martin will be adding his own unique twist to make the dancefloor throb, squelch and swirl. Completing the line-up, Al Velilla; DJ, producer and Om’s superb Spanish resident will get the night moving early doors with deep, groovy house woven with Balearic elements.
Our partners, DJDownload.com, will be hosting an exclusive Mike Monday mix featuring unreleased gems and forthcoming tracks from his album prior to the official release in September to give you a taster of things to come!
>Please note the mix is only available from 19th JuneHERE
