On the morning of November 1st, 2010, Underworld recorded a live in-studio session for KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic in the legendary Village Studios in Santa Monica. This is the studio that Fleetwood Mac built for their ‘Tusk’ album, and is also where Sly and the Family Stone recorded ’There’s a Riot Going On’ and Frank Zappa recorded ’Joe’s Garage’ along with many more classics I can’t even list here. It was a legendary session!

Oooooh, OM Creative’s getting ICE COLD in the OHLEVEN! We got the call from high atop the Rockies that Coors Light was looking for musical refreshment so we put on our thinking caps, and came up with this! We took three DJ’s, one being the man who’s been here since the beginning, Mr. J-Boogie and offered them up the entire Om Hip Hop catalog (past present and future, 16+ years worth) to take their cuts on remixing classics with the songs of today! The results came out DOPE, so we combined all three mixes in this slick online listening lounge. To hear all the mixes and reminisce with some classic Om with some you may have never heard move your mouse over and click HERE!

Jason Bentley premiered the new single from Underworld – “Always Loved a Film” – earlier this week on Morning Becomes Eclectic and now their blog has it for you as a stream! He describes the track as ‘joyful noise.’ We agree!!!

Special thanks go out to the nice folks over at Livio for sending me one of their snazzy new WIFI radios to test out. Those of you that know me, know that I’m down with radio. There’s something awesome about tuning into NPR (KQED here in lovely SF) and getting the straight scoop on what’s going on. But when I go down to LA, I’m always so envious of the radio down there. I mean, KCRW? Come on! That’s the truth! So, what if you could listen to KCRW and KQED on your radio in Oakland? Oh, wait…there’s more! What if you could also rock your Pandora channels with no commercials? Oh holy hell, wait…that’s not all! What if you could also tune into BBC Radio 1 and hear what’s going on with the dude Gilles Peterson? Now we’re talking! Want to listen to Solid Steel to see what those Ninjas are up to! It’s on there too. Over 2,000 stations around the world. I was listening to stations broadcasting out of Egypt, Cuba, and Maui all with a simple click. I’m old school. I like vinyl. I like terrestrial radio and I’m down with Pandora too. Here it is, all in one, and it’s got the audio output on the back so I run it into my speaker system. Freshness! I highly recommend picking one of these up if you’re down with the ultimate radio experience and getting more happiness in your life.
