We’ve thrown some epic parties in our lifetime, and the Om Grammy showcase featuring Groove Armada, Dirty Vegas, and Jason Bentley, was definitely another addition to that list. Wow. We’re still high off the lasers, love, and amazing sounds of Dirty Vegas, Groove Armada, and Jason Bentley. Could we go back to Saturday please?

It has been a interesting month in the Rocket Empire camp…lots of changes, all good, and perhaps this is why the mix is more upbeat, and full of color…as compared to the usual mixes that Dave Dish puts together. Starting off with a classic by Soulstice, and then covering more ground with artists like K&D, Telepopmusik, and Mono, this mix is made for the early mornings or late nights. Having run a contest on his Facebook page, Dave decided to let the fans have a go at naming the mix, the best title was supplied by Alberto Ferrante based in London,England. It’s nice to give something back to the fans, and allow them to be a part of the creative process.

Soulstice “Fall Into You”
Nightgrooves Sao Paulo “I Know”
Mono “Silicone”
Telepopmusik “Love’s Almighty”
Nightgrooves Sao Paulo “Urban Sounds”
Tiefschwarz “Bye Bye Baby”
Kruder & Dorfmeister “Shakatakadoodud”
Unknown Artist

Hip hop has always been a part of the Om repertoire as early as the Deep Concentration days. In 2006, the genre found a dedicated imprint named Om Hip Hop and has seen many hit indie releases including artist albums from Strange Fruit Project, Zion I & The Grouch, People Under the Stairs, J-Boogie’s Dubtronic Science, Black Spade, Raashan Ahmad, Zeph & Azeem, Colossus, Ladybug Mecca and The One. Om Hip Hop represents a bold leap into the future of urban music, as well as a return to its parent label’s early roots.

Oooooh, OM Creative’s getting ICE COLD in the OHLEVEN! We got the call from high atop the Rockies that Coors Light was looking for musical refreshment so we put on our thinking caps, and came up with this! We took three DJ’s, one being the man who’s been here since the beginning, Mr. J-Boogie and offered them up the entire Om Hip Hop catalog (past present and future, 16+ years worth) to take their cuts on remixing classics with the songs of today! The results came out DOPE, so we combined all three mixes in this slick online listening lounge. To hear all the mixes and reminisce with some classic Om with some you may have never heard move your mouse over and click HERE!
