We all know Erykah Badu loves a collabo (Watch “Get Live”). Erykah Badu was on Giles Peterson’s radio show recently promoting her new record. While playing tracks from the record, they also dropped a white label from a new group called Edith Funker. Turns our the group is a super group comprised of Erykah Badu, James Poyser, Questlove, Nikka Costa, Mike Elizondo & others.
Fenech Soler are back in the UK after a small stint of dates here in the US with Groove Armada and have just dropped a new single called “Stop & Stare”.
The electro pop-rock track features remixes from disco-dance remixer, Mighty Mouse, The Resets, and more. Click here to purchase “Stop & Stare” from iTunes.

Yoko Ono recently made somewhat of an underground comeback with her Plastic Ono Band. Ono’s single “Give Me Something” (which reminds me of another person favorite, Mu’s “Paris Hilton”) was remixed by the likes of Junior Boys, Dave Aude, Stonebridge, and one of my favorite deep house producers, Roberto Rodriguez. This isn’t the first time you’ve heard the track. Roberto dropped it in his Om Cast last month. The Junior Boys mix is pretty good, but gotta give it up to Roberto for holding it down for underground music / producers. It’s the sickest remix on a single full of cheese.

I’ve been a fan of Trentemøller since his early Naked Music days and have loved following him through his departure away from that sound. His last album, “Last Resort” is still one of my favorite albums to date and I’m happy to see him back with a new album.
The first single, “Sycamore Feelings”, has an eerie melancholic sound somewhere in between Nancy Sinatra, Boards of Canada, and Fever Ray.
“Sycamore Feelings” is out now and features remixes from friends, Gui Boratto and Thomas Schumacher.
The new album, ’Into The Great Wide Yonder’, drops in May on his own In My Room Records.
Some artists sometimes come up with the funniest names. These Polish friends have me scratching my head thinking WTF were they thinking when they decided to call them selves POL_ON. Despite the strange name, the production team of Kacper Bogacz and Michał Piotrowski, are putting out some dope tracks. They just dropped a single on Freerange, but it’s really this, “Molala” track on Pets Recordings (Catz&Dogz label) from last month, that I can’t get out of my head.
Brazilian electronica group, Zuco 103 is well known in the genre of worldy beats. They just dropped a remix project called “Retouched” which features remixes from an eclectic bunch of international producers/remixers. Om’s Wagon Cooking are one of the remixes called to duty. Another favorite is the UK based Kraak & Smack.
My homie Flock has been trying for a while to tell me about this high end audio, video, lighting controller from JazzMutant called the Lemur. I didn’t pay much attention to it because that shit’s 2 Grand plus I thought a Lemur was the cute little monkey on Zooboomafoo, but the other day he told me that they were developing a Lemur for the new Apple ipad so I thought I’d look into it. Not only is the product dope but it will roughly do the same thing the $2000 version will do and you could go out and buy 4 ipads for that much deniro. Not including the cost of the software which has yet to be determined but I’m just sayin. Read on here and take a look at a Lemur in action here but not here.

Special thanks go out to the nice folks over at Livio for sending me one of their snazzy new WIFI radios to test out. Those of you that know me, know that I’m down with radio. There’s something awesome about tuning into NPR(KQED here in lovely SF) and getting the straight scoop on what’s going on. But when I go down to LA, I’m always so envious of the radio down there. I mean, KCRW? Come on! That’s the truth! So, what if you could listen to KCRW and KQED on your radio in Oakland? Oh, wait…there’s more! What if you could also rock your Pandora channels with no commercials? Oh holy hell, wait…that’s not all! What if you could also tune into BBC Radio 1 and hear what’s going on with the dude Gilles Peterson? Now we’re talking! Want to listen to Solid Steel to see what those Ninjas are up to! It’s on there too. Over 2,000 stations around the world. I was listening to stations broadcasting out of Egypt, Cuba, and Maui all with a simple click. I’m old school. I like vinyl. I like terrestrial radio and I’m down with Pandora too. Here it is, all in one, and it’s got the audio output on the back so I run it into my speaker system. Freshness! I highly recommend picking one of these up if you’re down with the ultimate radio experience and getting more happiness in your life.
