One of the best things about my recent trip to SLATE / MAGIC was being able to meet someone from the Supra team. I’ve been a big fan of their high tops. Turns out the guy I met was a fan of Om and gave me a teaser to their new 2010 line.
The footwear company just released their new NS Cutler collection which features a minimal high top with sleek and simple design for everyday wear. The shoes are available in canvas and leather. They’re available now on Supra’s site and in stores March 1st.
Our friends at LRG have teamed up with Exile for their Visually Heard series. Producer Exile is known for his work with Aloe Blacc, Blu, and many others. LRG does a quick catch up with the producer as he talks about finding his dad’s (musician Albert Trent Manfredi) lost recordings and equipment.
LRG also recently launched their Spring 2010 collection. Check out some of the pieces below on up and coming artist Mike Posner or visit l-r-g.com for more information.

Shoe company New Balance is waking your ass up with a daily dose of “Balance”. For the rest of the year, you can visit newbalance365.com or download a New Balance alarm clock that will play a 20 second mini video that is meant to bring balance to your life while waking your ass up. The website also gives stats on “sleep worldwide”, “oversleepers”, and “late versus early risers”.
The video ends with a daily shoe that is picked and featured from their spring / summer 2010 line. Click here to see the entire 2010 Spring / Summer line.
For all those people up at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, make sure to check out my man J-Boogie DJ for the Gold Medal at Shine Nightclub featuring U-Tern, Freeky P., Three Piece Suit and more. If you’re watching from the so called Humboldt of Canada aka Nelson BC, get ready because Boogie is hitting The Hume Hotel for an explosion of Afro Beat, Latin, Electro, Funk, Hip Hop and more. J-Boogie in the mix for the win!! Also check out his Olympic Top Ten after the photo.
It has been a week of wonderful surprises in the GA world (Read: Groove Armada Announce Lovebox Music Festival). The GA guys have just dropped their new remix EP for “Paper Romance”. Part 2 features remixes from Paul Cooper, Softwar, GA’s Morten Sorenson (aka Tom Findlay of GA) and Andy Cato.
“Black Light” drops this Tuesday. The album teamed Andy and Tom up with their idol Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music. Turns out the cameo has lead additional collaboration for Roxy Music’s upcoming album.
Don’t miss Groove Armada as they head to the states (read GA Tour US)for the first ever full band performance. I can honestly say that the last time I saw something this (watch: GA Live) epic was Daft Punk.

Valentine’s Day is over but the warm-and-fuzzy vibes are still thick around here, friends. House music O.G. DJ Sneak was feeling the love this year too, as evidenced by his mix of luscious R&B, poppy hip-hop and feel-good dance tracks for A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold label. ‘For The Ladies Vol. 1’ was released as a podcast for the imprint (subscribe here) and features everyone from A Tribe Called Quest to Jill Scott to N*Sync (yep). The whole thing’s carried off at a cozy but bumpin’ BPM and is sure to make any jaded soul smile.

Hailing from Portland, OR, Rocket Empire is the next wave of Om’s midtempo chilled out roster. Think early Thievery Corporation mixed with Boozoo Bajou and you’re getting close to the vibe. Their track ‘Montezuma’s Revenge’ is the #1 most played track on SIRIUS ‘Chill’ (Channel 35).
Groove Armada are coming to the USA for a select group of shows with the full band to celebrate their new album ‘Black Light’ (out on Om on March 2nd). These shows are not to be missed, check back soon for more info!
