Fred Everything just dropped his new and the last single from “Lost Together”. “Don’t Nobody” features soul legend and Brand New Heavies memeber, N’Dea Davenport. For those of you who are vocal house fans and follow artist like Lisa Shaw, Candi Stanton, Barbara Tucker, Marlena Shaw, and etc, you will need to pick this up immediately.

The single has already had massive support from the likes of Josh Wink, Alex Barck (Jazzanova), Florian Kruse, Wagon Cookin, Andre Lodemann, Inland Knights,Dj Heather, Andy Caldwell and many more.

How did this rare collabo come about? Who better to tell you the story than Fred Everything himself.

Fred Everything: I was a big fan of The Brand New heavies, in 1997 I did an “unofficial” remix of one of her solo tracks (On) that ended up on vinyl and gotten a lot of play within the New York circles, mainly with the Body & Soul crew, where it became a bit of an underground hit. In 2004 while playing a gig at Apt in the Meat packing district in NYC, N’Dea showed up unannounced to the gig and asked to meet me. I was a little worried at what she would have to say. Turns out she just heard the track that night and loved the version. We exchanged numbers and arranged to meet up with her manager the next day. After the meeting, we kept in touch but we didn’t get to work together right away. In 2007 she joined the Brand New Heavies again and I thought my chances to work together were over. At my biggest surprise, she got back in touch when I moved to San Francisco in 2008, as I was finishing my album Lost Together for Om Records. We managed to meet in LA while she was in town for the Grammys. I found the crappiest little practice room for us to meet and finish the writing of the track, and the next day we recorded in Hollywood at Raphael Sadiiq’s studio. My friend Chuck works there as an engineer and we were able to use this amazing facility. It was such an experience to be in this amazing studio where countless artists have recorded, let alone Mr Sadiiq himself. We had an amazing time with the staff, visiting this studio that could only exist in my wildest dreams (3 studios with the wildest analog gear you never knew existed). N’Dea and I even played basketball inside the studio (it’s that big). And yes, she kicked my ass. It was like Prince beating Charlie Murphy in the Chappelle show (for those who know, The Blouses against the Shirts!). Thanks again N’Dea for you wonderful voice on this project!

This is the final single of my album Lost Together and I’m really proud to have this all star cast of remixers on the project : Hot Toddy from Crazy P, Mr J Boogie himself and the new addition to our family, from Ibiza to San Francisco, Mr Al Velila aka Al Pacino – El Proyek Manayer, who help dust out this project and bring it to life.
