Rithma

There’s something about Rithma (Etienne Stehelin) that draws you to him. Maybe it’s his humorous demeanor that can make you laugh on your worst day, or maybe it’s his undeniable charisma that makes you smile at every clever banter he makes. Whatever it is, there is something special about him, and he’s determined to let the world know it. An alumni to the music world for sometime now, Rithma has made a name for himself by putting his multitude of talents into use.

Growing up in a family full of musical talents it was no surprise that Rithma would be enamored by it at a young age. His mother was a musician in the sixties and seventies, who would perform in front of large crowds with Rithma by her side. It was these times that he picked up piano and learned to sing as well. This sparked interest in music opened the floodgates for a lifetime of learning for the young muse. It was from this Rithma learned to play guitar, hand drums, jazz guitar, keyboards, and increase his vocal capabilities. However, to this day he will be the first to tell you that the instrument he knows best is his computer – enter his love for producing.

Its obvious that Rithma is a free spirit in the dance music world today, and it shows through his efforts as a producer. He brings forward all the elements that make him who he is: dance, funk, blues, jazz, and good ‘ol rock ‘n roll. Somehow he manages to perfectly embody all the quirky raw elements that so classically display what Rithma truly embodies. He’ll start with the cleanest slate possible. A slate where an idea can be stemmed from it with a simple hum or beat box. Next a book will fall off a shelf and he has his newest beat cued in his head. It’s these inspirational noises that catch him off guard, setting him apart from everyone else. He has the ability to turn noise into music – and good music at that.

His unique and innovative ways have helped create numerous landmarks and milestones throughout his career. With close to 20 EP’s and a full-length album on the way, this country boy turned producer has undoubtedly left his mark in the dance music community. Despite his accomplishments up to this point, he is determined to keep evolving as an artist. He finds himself pushing his limits as a producer and a DJ every day. Rithma does know one thing – wherever his musical path takes him, he will take it on and run with it, full speed ahead.
