JT Donaldson + Lance DeSardi
JT Donaldson and Lance DeSardi are two of the busiest underground DJ´s and house music producers in the states. Known together as the Undercover Agency, they´ve produced an album for Seasons Recordings, released and remixed numerous projects and traveled as DJ´s to parties around the world sharing their sound with the world. Currently living in San Francisco, the two have just put together a double mixed CD for Om Records aptly titled "San Francisco Sessions."
The two met in their hometown of Dallas, Texas sometime around 1996. JT was working at Dallas´ semi–infamous, always ridiculous Bill´s Records & Tapes. The two started talking music and soon became friends. They would see each other out at parties where the Hazy Daze Collective, a local party crew, would bring in DJ´s from Chicago, New York, and Detroit on a regular basis. The parties created an environment to hang out and listen to music as well as ponder on the idea of producing music to make people move in the same way. JT and Lance went into the studio for a few months and came out with a project for local labels Fairpark and Choice Cuts. Two years later the itch to move away from home was ever present, and so they both decided to leave their hometown of Dallas. Lance went off to San Francisco and JT relocated to Chicago. There the boys would work on their solo projects, Lance for labels like Panhandle and Plush and JT for Distance and Cyclo.
JT and Lance would soon rejoin forces in Los Angeles a year and a half later where they produced music for Seasons Recordings, Dufflebag, Music For Freaks and Naked Music. Now in Southern California, the two would adopt the moniker Undercover Agency and were beginning to get recognition locally as well as internationally. They roomed with friend and fellow producer Chris Penny, aka Cpen. They would all start to share musical ideas and financial struggles alike, driving them to consistently release records for the next few years to come.
After recording, djing and working in and out of record stores, the boys moved to Chicago for a change of scenery, some new energy and inspiration. It would prove to be a short–lived experience, and the cold of the Midwest would push the two back out to the west coast within a year.
Now both living and breathing in San Francisco, CA but continuing the tradition of moving around the Undercover Agency have been traveling around the globe playing some of the world´s top night clubs.
