Here we have the second single from Bassnectar’s full length artist album – Underground Communication, entitled “Bomb The Blocks,” featuring the vocal talents of Ms. Persia. It was a bit tough to follow up the incredible performance of the “Yo” single, but we’ve managed to enlist some topnotch remixers in several genres to try to do it justice.. and also to make this a very versatile release. We think you’ll like the results! First up, Bassnectar gives his very own remix treatment-re-working his original into an ill mix of glitch-hop, dancehall, and pumping, bass-heavy hip hop rhythms-Quite tasty! Up next, Montreal’s Ghislain Poirier (Chocolate Industries) gives Bassnectar a driving no-nonsense b-line, hi energy drumloops and an overall dirty alternative to the more melodic original- NASTY! We’ve also included the original mix here in the A3 slot for your vinyl collection.. enjoy:). On Side B, New Zealand’s Magik Johnson gives BTB a proper housing.. deep, pumpin, twisted and funky all at the same time. In two words: F#KIN’ DOPE! Finally, Bugz in the Attic member Daz-I-Kue takes us on a broken beat journey- lots of pitch shifting and vocoder effects, latin percussion, moody, dreamy synths x%x strings and some dirty-ass bass to boot!
