Home & Garden is the brainchild of Tim Kvasnosky & Tim Shumaker, two extremely talented individuals.
Friend: Compatible, affable, cordial, jovial, amicable, affectionate, confidante. The list of words to describe one could go on and on, but in Home & Garden's case you have a profound record that speaks of friends. "Domesticated" is an album that was built on and around years and years of relationships that all started with one shared love - Music.
Home & Garden is the brainchild of Tim Kvasnosky & Tim Shumaker, two extremely talented individuals. Both of them hold an overwhelming amount of knowledge in regards to music, but on two completely different sides; one of them being well-versed in music theory, and the other a genius in the studio. It was a chance meeting at the legendary Sam Ash store in Manhattan that brought these two together. Tim S. had been working there for 6 months, watching some of the most well known musicians like Stevie Wonder and Ralph MacDonald come through to jam out - inspiration to say the least. Tim K. was one of those talented musicians that happened to come through the store on his lunch break one afternoon. Looking to buy a Korg Triton workstation he met his salesman Tim S. One conversation and a large purchase later the two found themselves in their first session together. It was this meeting that their similarities in tastes shone through. A love for 80's and R&B brought the duo even closer. The vibe between the two was undeniable, and the possibilities were endless.
Early projects for the duo included numerous remix hits that topped Billboard charts. The first being a remix of Lucy Woodward's "Blindsided", which went to #3 on the Billboard Club Play chart in July of 03. The love kept coming as they continued on, with #1 remixes for Esthero's "OG Bitch", and Debi Nova's "One Rhythm". As with everything else involved with these two, the happiness didn't come from number one hits - but the fact that their friends were playing their mixes.
The moniker Home & Garden has evolved over the years. Before the duo linked up Tim S. had done a few releases under the name, it was one of his many aliases for his various projects. Derrick Carter, a lifelong best friend to Tim has always told him "If you were a superhero your power would be symmetry." This seems to have been a theme in Tim's life since he was young. The name Home & Garden reflected balance, play, and a living environment - a symmetrical way of seeing things. It had a ring to it.
Coming soon is "Domesticated," an album created by Home & Garden with the help of their closest friends. All people who have been with them over the years showing them support when they needed it, and sitting back when they needed to push their own envelope. Including collaborations with Lucy Woodward, Derrick Carter, Colette, Mic Murphy (of the System) and Lisa Shaw to name a few, you are promised quality music that was built on something more than a soundboard - it was built on heart and soul. The duo Home & Garden are the result of years of friendships developed, passions pursued, goals reached, and lessons learned.
